Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. This Policy explains how DiscreetCareers collects, uses, stores and protects your personal information.

Last updated:6 August 2026

Discretion. Safety. Respect.

DiscreetCareers is a recruitment platform only. We do not host adult content. Our platform is built around privacy, discretion and trust — for candidates, employers and partners.

Candidate and employer details are handled with the utmost care and shared only where necessary for job applications or to operate and improve our services.

  1. 1. Who We Are & Data ControllerThe controller of your personal data and how to reach us.

DiscreetCareers is a UK-based recruitment platform that connects candidates with verified employers across the adult industry. We are recruitment-only and do not host adult content.

For the personal data described in this Policy, DiscreetCareers is the 'data controller' — meaning we decide how and why your data is processed. Our full legal entity name, company registration number and registered address are set out on our Contact page and are available on request.

We process personal data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. If you have any question about this Policy or your data, you can reach our privacy team through the Contact page.

  2. 2. Information We CollectThe categories of information we collect and how we collect it.

Account & profile data: your name, email address, phone number, password (stored only in hashed form), location, work history, skills, languages, experience and anything you choose to add to your profile.

Application data: the details you submit when applying for a role, including any CV or documents you upload, your availability and the messages you exchange about an application.

Employer & verification data: for employer accounts, the business details and verification documents needed to confirm a legitimate business.

Technical & usage data: IP address, browser, device, and how you use the site, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).

Communications: messages you send us, support tickets, and records of contact-form submissions.

  3. 3. Sensitive (Special Category) DataHow we treat data that may reveal sensitive information.

Because of the nature of the adult industry, some information you choose to provide — such as role preferences — may reveal or imply information about your sex life or sexual orientation. Under Article 9 of the UK GDPR this is 'special category' data and receives extra protection.

We only process this data where you have given us your explicit consent by choosing to provide it for the purpose of using our recruitment services, or where another Article 9 condition applies (for example, establishing or defending legal claims, or reasons of substantial public interest such as safeguarding).

You are never required to share sensitive details, you decide what goes on your profile, and you can remove this information or withdraw your consent at any time from your account settings.

  4. 4. Our Lawful Bases for ProcessingThe legal grounds we rely on under Article 6 UK GDPR.

Contract: to create and operate your account and process job applications — the core service you ask us for.

Consent: for marketing emails, non-essential cookies, and the sensitive profile data described above. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Legitimate interests: to keep the platform secure, prevent fraud and abuse, run trust & safety and moderation, and improve our services — balanced against your rights.

Legal obligation: where we must retain or disclose data to comply with the law or a lawful request from an authority.

  5. 5. Candidate PrivacyHow we handle personal data for job seekers.

Candidate profiles are private by default. You decide what information employers can see and you can pause your profile at any time.

We never share candidate details with an employer without your active step — typically when you apply for that employer's job or explicitly enable visibility.

  6. 6. Employer PrivacyHow we handle personal data for employers.

Employer accounts include the information needed to verify the business and post jobs. Verification details are kept confidential and used only for moderation and trust & safety.

Public-facing fields (company name, location, job descriptions) are shown to candidates as published.

  7. 7. How We Use Your InformationHow we use your information to provide and improve our services.

We use your information to operate the platform, process job applications, verify employers, provide support, send service notifications, run anti-fraud and safety checks, and improve our services.

Where we rely on consent (for example marketing emails), you can withdraw it at any time from your account settings without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

  8. 8. How We Share Your InformationWhen and why we share your information with others.

With employers: only when you apply for their role or otherwise opt in.

With service providers (processors): trusted suppliers who help us run the platform — for example cloud hosting and storage, email delivery, and infrastructure — who act only on our instructions under a contract.

For legal & safety reasons: where required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public, or DiscreetCareers.

We do not sell your personal data.

  9. 9. International Data TransfersWhat happens if data is processed outside the UK.

Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we make sure the transfer is protected by an appropriate safeguard recognised under UK data protection law — such as UK 'adequacy' regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement (or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

You can ask us for more detail about the safeguards that apply to a particular transfer.

  10. 10. Data SecurityThe security measures we use to protect your data.

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), secure hosting infrastructure, hashed passwords, regular security monitoring and access limited to staff on a need-to-know basis.

While no system is ever perfectly secure, we work continuously to protect your information and will notify you and the ICO of a personal data breach where the law requires it.

  11. 11. Data RetentionHow long we keep your information for.

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this Policy, then delete or anonymise it.

As a guide: account and profile data is kept while your account is active; when you request deletion, your account is deactivated and permanently removed after a short grace period; some records (for example those needed for legal, tax, fraud-prevention or safety reasons) may be kept for longer where the law requires.

  12. 12. Your RightsYour data rights and how you can exercise them.

Under UK data protection law you have the right to: be informed; access your data; have inaccurate data corrected; have your data erased; restrict processing; data portability; object to processing; and rights around automated decision-making. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, use your account settings or contact us. We will respond within one month (we may extend this by two further months for complex requests, and will tell you if so). Exercising your rights is free unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

  13. 13. Automated Decisions & ProfilingWhether we make solely automated decisions about you.

We use limited automated processing to make the service useful — for example matching jobs to your preferences and sending job alerts you have opted into.

We do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you based solely on automated processing, without human involvement.

  14. 14. CookiesHow we use cookies and similar technologies.

We use strictly necessary cookies to run the site, and — only with your consent — optional cookies for analytics and marketing. You can accept or reject non-essential cookies from the cookie banner, and change your choice at any time. See our Cookie Policy for full details.

  15. 15. Account Deletion & RequestsHow to delete your account or request your data.

You can request account deletion from your settings. Your account is deactivated immediately and permanently deleted after a short grace period, during which you can cancel. You can also request a copy of your data or ask us to correct it by contacting us.

  16. 16. Age Restriction (18+)Our platform is strictly for adults.

DiscreetCareers is strictly for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. Any account found to belong to a minor is removed immediately. See our 18+ Policy for more.

  17. 17. Complaints & the ICOHow to complain if you're unhappy with how we handle your data.

We hope to resolve any concern if you contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

You can reach the ICO at ico.org.uk, by calling 0303 123 1113, or by writing to: Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.

  18. 18. Changes to This PolicyHow we may update this Policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated 'Last updated' date, and we will tell you about significant changes where appropriate.

  19. 19. Contact UsHow to get in touch with our privacy team.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, want to exercise your rights, or wish to make a complaint, please contact us via the Contact page.
